What is the role of a Protection Officer?

A Protection Officer, appointed under the Protection of Women From Domestic Violence Act, assists the aggrieved woman in accessing legal remedies. Their duties include:

·      helping file a Domestic Incident Report (DIR),

·      assisting in filing applications before the Magistrate,

·      facilitating access to medical aid,

·      shelter homes, and legal services,

·      and ensuring that court orders are effectively implemented.
