Yes, domestic violence can occur without any physical assault. Physical violence is not necessary to establish domestic violence under the Act. A woman can seek legal protection if she is subjected to emotional, verbal, sexual, or economic abuse, even in the absence of physical assault. The law recognises that domestic violence can take many forms and aims to protect women from all kinds of abusive behaviour.
